Volvo have released a video showing an animation of how their I-Shift Dual Clutch works. Taking inspiration from the racing world, they created a completely new gearbox for the trucking world that offers power shifting with no interruption in torque and power delivery.

Thanks to power-shift gear changes without any interruption in power delivery, torque is maintained and the truck does not lose any speed during gear changes. For the driver, the result is more comfortable and efficient on the road.
It basically has two input shafts that are connected to the engine by two clutches. While one input shaft is turning in first gear, the other input shaft pre-selects the next gear, allowing for a smooth transition. I-Shift Dual Clutch is available together with D13K engines with power levels 460, 500 and 540 hp.
